Lions in an exhibition, and other things

Have been working on a variety of things. Here’s a collagraph – a picture of a Hakka sweeper at Chai Wan MTR station. Typically of advertising, and anyway typically in Hong Kong, she was passed by fashionable folk en route to wherever, and fashion posters.

I’ve always liked Chinese lions. Here are a couple of developed sketches of lions.

I am going to take part in the American Women’s Association’s exhibition, ‘Art on the Line’ in March in which art to be sold is hung on a long line, and the proceeds of sales go to assist families in need here in Hong Kong. I shall probably put a lion on the line.

I may also put one of my sketches of Hong Kong’s hopes for democracy in this exhibition, though actually I think I’ve sold all but one of thoses. I recently was commissioned to redo this picture of the umbrellas. Were the ideals for full democracy here thwarted? I think not.
