Selling books in the rain

Sold books alongside St, John’s Cathedral Bookstore on a, sadly, wet day at St. Stephen’s Christmas Fete, Stanley. The weather felt more like what you might expect in Stanley in the Falklands Islands than Stanley in Hong Kong.

Still there was good Christmas cheer. Father Christmas should’ve come by helicopter, but as the cloud was too low, he came by fire engine. The 2 lions were especially lovely – the red lion was having difficulty climbing his wet pole, so the yellow one interacted with the children beautifully – and the red one did get up his pole.

We were left with over 100 little tubs of ice cream tubs afterwards – people would’ve preferred soup to ice cream. But guess what we’ll be having with our Christmas pud this year?
